UK has moral imperative to lead on slashing CO2

I was astonished by the letter from John Helm (LTT 25 Oct), and would like to respond to some of the issues he raises. 

Blaming others for emitting more carbon is a convenient excuse to avoid action, but I would also dispute Mr Helm’s methodology. The fairest way to accurately compare national emissions is by counting emissions per person. China’s carbon dioxide emissions were 8 tonnes per capita in 2018 – higher than the UK (5.6 tonnes per capita), but lower than Germany...
