Flagship Cardiff Parkway and Llanwern stations outscored

Two proposed rail stations championed by the Welsh Government have scored relatively poorly in an assessment of 12 new station proposals in Wales. The four highest scoring schemes are progressing to the next assessment stage.

The Welsh Government has committed £50m to constructing Llanwern station, with 1,000 parking spaces, on a newly constructed track south of the South Wales Main Line to the east of Newport.
