Councillors in have approved making the Order to establish the city’s Class D clean air zone (CAZ), which will cover roads within the city’s ring road.
Non-compliant cars, light goods vehicles, and taxis will be charged £8 a day, and HGVs and buses £50. Failure to pay on time will incur a £120 penalty charge, halved (for cars, vans and taxis) if paid before the end of the 14th day of the payment period.
