raising the speed limit for lorries on single carriageway roads in England and Wales has helped increase average speeds and may have benefitted road safety, says a new report for the DfT.
The HGV speed limit was raised from 40mph to 50mph on single carriageway roads and from 50mph to 60mph on dual carriageway roads in 2015.
