Many streets in Edinburgh’s Old Town will be closed to vehicular traffic this summer under the council’s ‘summertime streets’ initiative to give pedestrians more space at the height of the tourist season. Some streets will be closed to vehicles throughout the period 28 July – 1 September and others will operate as vehicle-free streets between 1030 and 1830. Access for blue badge holders will be managed by stewards and bicycles will be allowed entry at all times....
