DfT refuses to commit to stop trains at new station in Wales

The Welsh Government is continuing to develop plans for a £50m park-and-ride station near Newport despite receiving no commitment from the DfT that trains will actually stop there.

The Welsh Government plans  to provide 1,000 parking spaces at the new Llanwern station,  east of Newport, along with a stabling track for additional trains on days when major events are held in Cardiff. The station will be built on a new one-mile loop of track off the relief lines of the South Wales...
