When did your connection with buses begin?

RD: I was a bus enthusiast from as far back as I remember but the defining moment was in 1971 when I was attached to City of Cardiff Transport as part of my degree course. They were great and let me do lots of things, including a service revision. On start day, I watched a full bus leave and thought “I did that”. The spotter’s ‘anorak’ came away to reveal the bus chief’s suit beneath and I knew where my career lay...
