Crossing removal ‘will increase traffic’

Replacing a level crossing with a bridge on the A10 at Foxton, Cambridgeshire, will attract more traffic to the road, blighting local communities, according to the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP). The level crossing can delay road traffic by 15-20 minutes in the peak hours and the GCP says this could worsen because of plans for additional trains on the line, which connects Cambridge to Hitchin.
