No case for tram-train on Portishead branch

running  tram-train vehicles on the re-opened Portishead branch in North Somerset is unlikely to deliver financial  benefits, according to the emerging findings of a study commissioned by North Somerset Council and Network Rail. 

Transport secretary Chris Grayling asked for a study of the merits of tram-train versus traditional heavy rail last October to inform his decision about whether the Government should fill a shortfall in the re-opening costs.
