A £32m rail station to be built in Wigan includes a new accessible two-platform rail station, improved car parking facilities and walking and cycling links to the town centre.
Work on the new Golborne station is scheduled to start next year, with first trains hoped to stop there in 2027.
Delivery of the station will mark a significant step forward in reconnecting the town to the rail network for the first time in more than 60 years.
