Transport for London is consulting on its proposed HGV safety permit scheme that is intended to reduce collisions with cyclists and pedestrians.
The scheme introduces a direct vision standard (DVS) for HGVs over 12 tonnes, based on a star rating system of the drivers’ view through the cab windows. The ratings range from zero (lowest) to five (highest).
