Barnsley wants two parkway stations

A new Dearne Valley Parkway station should be part of an upgraded railway between Leeds and, according to a rail vision published by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. The station on the Dearne Valley line would be located in the vicinity of Thurnscoe, Goldthorpe and Bolton-on-Dearne and could be served by the proposed Northern Powerhouse Rail network of trains connecting the North’s major cities.
