Quaylink buses will begin to operate on 22 July. The ultra-low emission hybrid diesel-electric buses, the first commercial use of them in the UK, will link transport interchanges at Newcastle and Gateshead, including Haymarket and Central stations. The launch of the Quaylink scheme is timed to start just before the Tall Ships race event. Centrelink comprises an upgraded bus service between Gateshead interchange and the Metrocentre station, both of which have been upgraded as part of the scheme....
