The National Infrastructure Commission has rejected a suggestion it should become a statutory body.
The Institute for Government (IfG) recently said that, as an executive agency of the Treasury, the NIC’s independence of Government could not be guaranteed (LTT 16 Feb). The think tank said the Government should make the Commission a statutory non-departmental public body (NDPB).
