‘Rethink Scots planning reforms’

The Scottish Government’s proposed reforms to the planning system will weaken regional spatial planning, local authorities have warned. 

The Planning (Scotland) Bill will abolish strategic development plans (SDPs) for Scotland’s four city-regions: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.  Councils will instead be expected to form partnerships to provide input into a strengthened National Planning Framework.
