Exhaust not the culprit for PM10s

The vast majority (88%) of fine particulates (PM10) from road transport in London originate not from vehicle exhausts but from brakes, tyre wear, and resuspension – road surface dust that is resuspended in the air by the effects of vehicle turbulence and wind – according to Transport for London.
