Sheffield probes Clean Air Zone but rules out charges for cars

Sheffield City Council has ruled out charges for cars, taxis and private hire vehicles if a charging Clean Air Zone is set up. 

Sheffield was one of 28 councils identified by the Government last summer as having the greatest problem with meeting the EU limit value for nitrogen dioxide. Each must set out a draft action plan by the end of March and a final plan by December.

Sheffield and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Councils are undertaking a joint Clean Air Zone (CAZ) feasibility study....
