Highways England has revised the schedule for its £15bn road improvement programme in a bid to reduce the impact of roadworks and minimise congestion.
Plans for the 26 road upgrades have been rescheduled between three and 24 months, meaning a number of schemes will be completed earlier than planned, said Highways England.
