Busway patronage exceeds forecast

The Leigh-Salford-Manchester busway has carried more than two million passengers in its first year of operation – “a significantly higher level than originally envisaged”, according to Transport for Greater Manchester. Services were introduced on 3 April last year and run from 4am Monday to Friday until midnight seven days a week. Four buses an hour from Leigh and Atherton combine to give eight buses an hour east of Tyldesley. The route features 4.5 miles of guided busway....
