Journey times over parts of recently widened sections of the M25 are now longer than before the capacity improvements were made, an evaluation for Highways England has found. 

The extra capacity has attracted  thousands more vehicle trips onto the road, resulting in longer journey times for travellers, according to the report by consultant Atkins.
