Peak car theory not relevant to M4 relief road, inquiry told

The peak car hypothesis can be “readily dismissed” and is irrelevant to the decision on whether the M4 Relief Road should be built round the south of Newport, a Welsh Government witness has told the road’s public inquiry.

The remarks were made by Bryan Whittaker who is serving as the Welsh Government witness on traffic. He is an associate director of consultant Arup, responsible for the firm’s strategic transport modelling across the UK.
