Councils in England made £756m profit from on- and off-street parking in 2015/16, according to the RAC Foundation. The figure is 9% higher than the £693m collected in 2014/15 and 34% higher than in 2011/12.
The figures were collated by David Leibling and are based on taking income from parking charges and penalty notices and deducting running costs.
