Norfolk rejects unitary investigation

Councillors on Norfolk County Council have ruled out exploring options for a unitary model of local government in the county following last month’s collapse of the devolution deal covering Norfolk and Suffolk (LTT 25 Nov). Councillors voted down a motion by UKIP councillor Toby Coke calling for an investigation of options such as retaining the current two-tier system and moving to a single unitary council, two unitaries, or three unitaries. ...
