Councils may have to tender Enhanced Partnership routes

COUNCILS USING the new Enhanced Partnership powers of the Bus Services Bill will have to put services out to tender if more than one operator wants to deliver specified services in a corridor, according to South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.

The Bill will allow local transport authorities to work in partnership with operators to prepare an Enhanced Partnership plan and an accompanying Enhanced Partnership scheme. The latter can include matters such as:
