Hampshire County Council is planning a moratorium on speed limit reviews and heavy commercial vehicle restrictions unless they are needed for casualty reduction purposes.
The council says the moratorium, to be introduced from April next year, is necessary because of budget cuts and the need to focus limited resources on casualty reduction. The number of people killed or seriously injured on the county’s roads rose in 2013 and 2014.
