The long and deep debate about the effectiveness of speed cameras continues with each side advancing complex, if contradictory, statistics and science. This really is not good for road safety so let’s see if we can find some common ground based on a few simple truths.

Yes we must have speed limits to control and guide speeds and indeed punitive measures to ensure compliance. But do all sides agree that:
