Herts explores other uses for Green Belt rail freight site

Hertfordshire county Council is inviting developers to come forward with alternative proposals for green belt land near St Albans, which has already been granted planning consent for a major rail-connected freight terminal and warehousing to serve London. 

The county council and St Albans District Council have been fighting the plans of developer Segro Ltd for a strategic rail freight interchange (SRFI) on the former Radlett aerodrome site, beside the Midland Main Line and M25....
