The Government has published its promised new legislation to put regional transport bodies such as Transport for the North on a statutory footing.
Communities and local government secretary Greg Clark will table the amendments to the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill next week. They will give the secretary of state for transport the power to establish, by regulations, sub-national transport bodies (STBs) in any part of England outside Greater London.
