Transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin has opened the upgraded A453 trunk road connecting the M1 junction 24 with the A52 in Nottingham. The £169m project has upgraded five miles of rural road from single to dual carriageway and improved two miles of urban road through Clifton to a four-lane single carriageway.
