The enforcement of private parking has started attracting the interest of consumer affairs and investigative television programmes. Recent months have seen several programmes look into how private land is regulated under the Protection of Freedoms Act, which banned clamping without lawful authority but made it easier to issue tickets by making vehicle keepers liable for parking charge notices.
