London mayor Boris Johnson is inviting boroughs to bid to a new Low Emissions Neighbourhood fund to improve air quality. The mayor plans to fund one or two £1m low emission neighbourhoods, which could feature measures such as encouraging more walking and cycling, reducing through-vehicle traffic, reducing the impact of freight, and “smarter parking charging”.
