Man who assaulted CEO gets 30-month sentence

A man who punched a civil enforcement officer (CEO) so hard in the face that he shattered his glasses has been jailed for 30 months. Scaffolder Karl Edwards pleaded guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm at Isleworth Crown Court on 5 May.

The assault took place on 4 October last year in Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith, London. The CEO, who works for Hammersmith & Fulham council, had been issuing penalty charge notices when he was struck from behind.
