Heathrow Airport’s owners this week pledged a six-fold increase in passengers accessing the airport by rail, and a huge cut to car commuting by staff if the Government approves plans for a third runway.
The pledges are contained in the airport’s final submission to the Government’s Airports Commission. It will recommend a preferred option for airport expansion next summer, after the General Election.
