Patrick Verwer, managing director of Merseyrail, has been appointed as managing director of Go Ahead’s Aviation services company, Aviance UK. He will be succeeded at Merseyrail by fellow Dutchman, Bart Schmeink, who was previously managing director of Prorail’s maintenance division, the Dutch equivalent of Network Rail.
