Transport Safety Commission launched

The institutional arrangements for road safety is to be the key focus of the first inquiry by the new Transport Safety Commission.

The Commission has been set up by PACTS, the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, and comprises 16 members drawn from UK Parliament and from the road, rail and air safety professions and related sectors. It has two co-chairs: former transport minister Sir Peter Bottomley and executive director of the RAC Foundation, Stephen Glaister.
