Motorists in the UK are paying more than £30m each month in parking fines, according to research carried out by LV car insurance. It also estimates that 900,000 penalty charge notices are issued by councils every month – up 4% from 2012.
LV sent Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to 434 city, district, borough and county councils. Of these only 143 responded.
