Bus operators demand direct payments to replace BSOG loss

Nottingham’s two biggest bus operators have endorsed the council’s bid to the DfT’s Better Bus Area 2 (BBA2) grant regime – but only on the basis that they receive direct payments/savings equivalent to the £8m they will lose from the withdrawal of Bus Service Operators Grant.

The operators were unwilling to swap the certain loss of BSOG from commercial services for the possible lower operating costs and/or increased revenues resulting from the bus priority...
