Combined authority for Liverpool?

Local authorities in the Liverpool City Region are planning to apply to Government for the power to establish a Combined Authority that would oversee transport and economic development policies.

The five Merseyside districts and neighbouring Halton Council plan to conduct a review of governance arrangements, which is a precursor to applying to the Government for powers to set up a Combined Authority on which the council leaders would sit.
