London mayor Boris Johnson this week called on ministers to examine whether man-made global warming theory is flawed.

Johnson said it was time ministers studied the possibility that solar activity, rather than carbon dioxide emissions, is the key driver of global temperature. Any such re-think would have “big implications for agriculture, tourism, transport, aviation policy and the economy as a whole,” he said.
