Under the framework of its Sustainable Urban Mobility campaign, the European Commission has launched the EU’s first project awards to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local and regional authorities.
The inaugural theme is ‘stakeholder and citizen participation’, with 20 authorities each receiving E10 000 to support local awareness-raising activities on sustainable urban mobility.
