Calls for the compulsory regular inspection of Britain’s 4,000 multi-storey car parks have gained momentum after a success of collapses in structures across the globe. Last month there was a fatal collapse of a car park in Florida, USA and non-fatal one in Abu Dhabi. These followed roof deck failures at retail car parks in Canada and Australia.
