Proportion of BSOG to be devolved to local, authorities

Local Transport Minister Norman Baker has announced a series of reforms aimed at delivering more innovative and higher quality bus services, and improving the value for money the government receives from the funding it provides to the industry.

These changes include:

Devolving a proportion of Bus Service Operators Grant funding to local authorities, rather than paying it directly to bus companies. Local authorities will decide how this money is spent according to their transport...
