Transport Scotland is considering including local transport projects in the contract to build a bypass of Aberdeen.
The 46km Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route will be a dual carriageway built from Stonehaven in the south to Blackdog, the junction with the A90, north of the city. Ministers already plan to include the dualling of the A90 trunk road to the north of Aberdeen, between Balmedie and Tipperty, in the contract and are now considering including three council schemes:
