Bus operator Wilts & Dorset has adopted a system that allows smart phone users to access real-time information by scanning tags located on bus stops. Passengers with NFC (near field communications) phones will be able to find out how soon the next bus will arrive at 250 bus stops on routes between Poole, Bournemouth, Castelpoint and Southbourne. The system, developed by Track4Services, has already been trialled by Poole council.
