A survey in three West Midlands towns has found no evidence that car ownership is lower in areas close to public transport facilities or town centres.
The findings from Dudley have been incorporated into the council’s new draft residential parking standards. Developers will not be allowed to provide levels of car parking below the council’s minimum standards simply because the site is close to public transport facilities or town centres.
