Richard Jeffrey, chief executive of Edinburgh’s tram project, has resigned after two years in the post. He had taken over at Transport Initiatives Edinburgh (TIE) after the resignation of Willie Gallagher in 2009, who also quit after two years in the role.
Jeffrey’s departure followed a report to Edinburgh City Council, which said that work so far had cost £440m out of a total budget of £545m.
