The chief executive of Edinburgh’s troubled tram project is to resign this summer.  

Richard Jeffrey will stand down as chief executive of tie, the council’s wholly-owned tram delivery company, on 8 June after two years in post. “Following the mediation earlier this year I believe now is the optimum time to move on and allow the project to proceed to the next stage,” he said this week.
