Sergeant named Welsh transport minister

Carl Sargeant has been appointed minister for local government and communities, a post that includes transport, in the new Labour Welsh Assembly Government. Sargeant, Assembly Member for Alyn and Deeside, was previously local government minister. He takes over the transport portfolio from Ieuan Wyn Jones, the Plaid Cymru leader, who is no longer in the Government.
