One of the leading voices for transport investment in the North of England will be closed at the end of this month.
The Northern Way has championed numerous transport projects including high-speed rail links, the Manchester hub rail capacity project, better rail freight links to ports and managed motorways.
It is funded by the three north of England Regional Development Agencies but they are being closed in March 2012 and so have withdrawn funding for the Northern Way from this April.
