Two influential transport industry figures have voiced scepticism about councils taking on bus Quality Contract powers.

Sir Peter Hendy, London’s transport commissioner, remarked on the plans for bus Quality Contracts in Tyne and Wear at last week’s Bus Industry Awards in London.
